Fighting for and Walking With Ellie

Below is a guest blog post written by my dear friend Erin Vaden. Erin is a strong, graceful, and incredibly kind mom of two who is now a Board Member for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-Fort Worth Chapter. She has shared her experience, her heart, and her mission to protect her beautiful daughter, Ellie.    I have two daughters. Catherine is 4 and arrived at 34 weeks via emergency c-section. Ellie is 2, and I had an easy pregnancy, considering every day past 34 weeks a triumph. Then, at Ellie’s two week checkup, we got some surprising news: her newborn...

Socially Conscious Candles

So I am candle obsessed. My candle scents tend to be the first sign in my home that the holidays are approaching, that Spring is coming, that summer is here, and even that birthdays are close. I can find literally any excuse to buy and burn a candle. Calyan Wax Co. Soy Candles are awesome. Western Hills Elementary, Western Hills Primary, Eastern Hills Elementary, The Leadership Academy at Como Elementary, and Rivertree Academy have...

Go Red for Women!

This Friday is National Wear Red Day in support of women’s heart health. Did you know heart disease kills nearly one woman every 80 seconds? EIGHTY seconds. I can’t even finish folding my laundry in that amount of time. My daughter doesn’t even come close to finishing her argument on why she doesn’t need to eat her vegetables in under two minutes. Eighty seconds isn’t a drop in the bucket compared to how long I chat my mom’s ear off on the phone. Did you know that heart disease is the number 1 killer of women? Number ONE. The...

Fort Worth Woman Featured in VoyageDallas

I would like to humbly thank VoyageDallas for their feature in their Most Inspiring Stories in Fort Worth section covering Fort Worth Woman! This was truly an honor and a way for me to explain myself a bit more outside of purely social media. VoyageDallas has a goal to help hard-working, inspiring people tell their stories authentically and in their own words which is precisely what I love about this article- it truly feels like me! They focus on the human story, because they feel that is what makes a business or brand special.  They truly grasped my love,...
