Ashley Tinley

Founder and Physician Assistant of Le Reve Skincare & Laser Center

He was, and is still my reason for always striving to be a good practitioner and my drive to make things better aesthetically for people.

Meet September’s Woman of the Month! Ashley Tinley is the kind of person who knew she wanted to have a career in medicine from an early age. Both schooling and personal experience brought her to where she is today, the Founder of Le Reve Skincare and Laser Center – a place where women in Fort Worth can enhance their natural beauty in the most minimally invasive way possible.

Growing up in her father’s dentistry practice, Ashley later pursued medicine as a pre-med major at Clemson University in South Carolina. She then went on to graduate magma cum laude at the Medical College of Georgia in their Physician Assistant Program. She considers her family as “all medical” given that her father was a dentist, her older sister a dental hygienist, her younger sister a hospital liaison, and her younger brother an anesthesiologist. She describes her mom as a multi-tasking professional in saying, “My mother kept us all fed and took us to and from our million after school activities. As a stay-at-home mom, she probably had the hardest job.”

In reflecting on her time working in her father’s dentistry practice and considering why she pursued medicine, Ashley shared, “My father, from Georgia, grew up extremely poor but was super driven and excelled in both Math and Science. He was accepted in the first dental school class of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. While attending Dental School, he worked three jobs to support his family and opened up a successful dental practice in North Augusta, South Carolina. I was fortunate to work with him during the summers and learned a great deal about how to run a small business as well as how to treat patients/office staff.  He had a big heart, and it was more important for his patients to have good dental health and be happy with their smile – over making money.  He was, and is still my reason for always striving to be a good practitioner and my drive to make things better aesthetically for people.”

Shortly after graduating from Clemson, Ashley began to think ahead. She knew she wanted to work in medicine but she also knew she wanted to be a mother. She has three children whose ages are quite far apart: a 23 year old, 12 year old, and five year old. Becoming a mom was when she shifted her plans to attend medical school and decided to become a Physician Assistant. She initially started out practicing nephrology – focusing on the health of kidneys and in dialysis care – but, as she describes, “found my dream job as a Dermatology Physician Assistant over ten years ago.” Entrepreneurship came as naturally to her as medicine did. Ashley states “I have always had a strong drive – and have worked several jobs at a time. I was very motivated to work hard but when I found my dream job as a dermatology Physician Assistant, I wanted to take care of my patients in a different way and found a passion for skin and making people feel natural.”

Having personally suffered with acne in college, Dermatology was a natural fit for Ashley. She knows the struggle all too well, has the best tricks up her sleeve, and has a natural empathy for others who struggle with the same. This experience is what makes her passionate about skin health. Ashely describes, “I love making people feel better about themselves but also love to educate patients on who to take care of their skin.”

For seven years, Ashley practiced  in Dermatology and Skincare at the Center for Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology and then, in 2016, she decided to open her own practice, Le Reve Skincare & Laser Center to provide her patients with the absolute newest technology in lasers and cosmetic treatments.

Ashley discusses a full range of services at Le Reve Skincare & Laser Center saying, “I can diagnose dermatologic disorders and specify which treatment would be best for each patient. Our lasers can resurface skin–improving texture, tone, and fine lines, get rid of unwanted fat, improve scarring, remove sun damage, unwanted moles, birthmarks, improve veins, and remove hair. As far as cosmetic procedures, we have the absolute top-of-the-line, newest technology in laser cosmetic treatment to tighten wrinkles and loose skin, remove hair, shrink fat, remove facial sun damage, erase scarring as well as unwanted moles and birthmarks. We also have fillers to add volume, and botulinum toxin to slow down and reverse the skin wrinkling processes. We carry the most well-known cosmeceutical lines (that have been intensely studied) for home therapy and maintenance as well.”

On top of offering the best of the best, Ashley also offers full skin exams to screen for Melanoma and other more common skin cancers. Alongside diagnosis and management of these skin cancers, Ashley has a passion for finding answers to dermatologic conditions such as eczema, acne, rosacea, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, among many others. She has a passion for women. Ashley describes, “I want women to feel heard and feel good after walking away. Investing in your skin is very important and so often people do not realize the dangers of continued sun exposure over the years or even just genetics that can lead to skin cancer.”

When thinking about what she has built with Le Reve Skincare & Laser Center, Ashley literally glows about what she does. She describes further, “Skincare has been my passion for years, and being able to open a business that lets me combine my personal and professional interests is very rewarding. You feel better when you look better. Skin is a reflection of what is going on in your body: diet, hormones, sleep, medications, even a thyroid disorder can be big factors in how your skin looks and feels. I like to say that the skin is the window to our soul.” As we age our skin changes and Ashley is there for the whole journey. As a self-described “derm nerd”, she continually researches the most up-to-date and most effective treatments for her patients. She states, “I treat a lot of adult and teenage acne, other skin disorders, provide skin cancer screenings/biopsies, as well as treatment for hormone deficiencies and weight loss.” Her advice? Take care of your skin at an early age by wearing sunscreen as it can prevent both premature aging as well as sun damage.

What Ashley loves about Fort Worth is the charming southern hospitality. As a South Carolina girl, she finds appreciation for the family friendly atmosphere as well as the small town feel.  As a local entrepreneur, the ability of Fort Worth to support her local business as well as charities strikes a cord in her heart. As a mom of two young girls, she finds Fort Worth to be a both a safe and fun place to take them out. Ashley includes, “Fort Worth allows me to nurture my creative side- with art galleries, museums, music, and dance . I also like the focus on preserving Cowtown history.”

When thinking about her career and the business she has created here in town, ‘innovative’ is the word that comes to mind. In regards to her treatment protocol, attention to detail, passion, and latest technology everything that is offered at Le Reve Skincare & Laser Center for the people of Fort Worth is innovative, new, and top notch.
