Kristi Judd

Founder & CEO –

I’m a Fort Worth transplant, born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve always been dedicated to the advancement of the arts, but most specifically music education. My father is a musician and I was pretty immersed in music as a kid. When deciding what to do for a career, I couldn’t imagine a life that wasn’t always revolving around rehearsals, performances, and the creation of beautiful sounds. I initially thought I’d like to teach in a public school classroom, but as I progressed through college, I started gravitating more towards one-on-one teaching in a studio setting. I realized I enjoyed the intimacy as well as the opportunity to build lasting personal relationships with students. Through college, I worked part-time at a local dance studio that wanted to beef up its Arts offerings with a Music Lesson program. Lots of ups and downs later, shortly after graduating, I was contacted by the owner of an established studio in South Atlanta. I began teaching there and filled my schedule so quickly, it soon became my only mode of income. I eventually became the manager of that studio. It was then that I dug my feet into studio work for good. I truly loved my time there and learned so much. My unexpected and new-found love for business management was just a bonus. When I relocated to the great city Fort Worth, my husband (a Fort Worth native) and I immediately hit the ground looking for the perfect studio location. Six months -to the day!- later, we were open! I lead the creation and development of all programs. I work to foster the amazing culture we enjoy at MJS through strategic hiring, training, and leading my team through clearly communicating our vision, values, and mission.
