Meet September’s Fort Worth Woman! Carrie Lenamond is a full-time Emergency Physician and Medical Director of The Emergency Center at West 7th on University. Born in Lubbock and growing up nearby in Mesquite, Carrie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University. She then graduated a semester early to enable her to travel to Guatemala and learn Spanish before attending medical school in Dallas at UT Southwestern. Carrie grew up familiar with the medical field but officially decided to become a physician because of her drive to have a meaningful impact on peoples’ lives. Her passion for medicine goes beyond just science and focuses on the art of caring for real people.
She completed her Emergency Medicine residency training at the University of Florida and that is where she met her husband who is a Colonel in the U.S. Army. They began their marriage in Ohio after graduation but as her husband was deployed to Iraq during her first pregnancy, Carrie moved home to Texas to be near family. This support was invaluable for the first eight years of their marriage, as Carrie’s husband was deployed every other year. Currently they are both working at The Emergency Center and have two children ages 9 and 10.
Carrie loves the atmosphere that Fort Worth provides. She enjoys the diversity combined with the family-friendly attitude which is exactly what her employment serves. At The Emergency Center, Carrie has the privilege of caring for people of all ages with a wide variety of medical conditions. Every day brings a new challenge but she is confident in both her skills as an emergency physician and the skills of her team working at The Emergency Center to provide the best, individualized care for each patient. Her word for her impact as a business woman on our city is compassion. She is fully committed to caring for the people of Fort Worth and providing a personalized emergency care experience for anyone in their time of need.
