Bingo! Protecting Our Local Children

“Bingo!”

The sound of cheers from over 500 influential women echoes across a ballroom. Champagne glasses clink, laughter is heard, and prizes handed out by handsome uniformed police officers are unwrapped as if it was Christmas morning.

Pretty good girls’ day out, right?

Alliance For Children’s Let’s Play Bingo! Ladies’ Luncheon is a destination event of the season – celebrating 10 years of playing Bingo all for the prevention of child abuse in Tarrant County. This year’s event will take place at the Gaylord Texan on Saturday, February 1st.

Alliance For Children, Tarrant County’s Children’s Advocacy Center, is an organization with expertise in honoring children and their stories. When a child becomes a victim of abuse, or experiences violence or trauma, it is the professionals at Alliance For Children that will be there to hear them, support them, and join them on their road to healing.

Last year, Alliance For Children served 2,564 children in our community as a part of a child abuse investigation. Their stories were heard and honored by the unique, multi-disciplinary team that works at each investigative center. Their partnerships include: the Department of Family and Protective Service (formerly CPS), Cook Children’s Medical Center and JPS Health Network, the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, and 28 local law enforcement jurisdictions.

But 2,564 is too high.

One child being affected by abuse in our community is too many.

Prevention is the key to keeping the children in our community safe. The women of Tarrant County will gather at Alliance For Children’s “Let’s Play Bingo!” event to support this common cause: the prevention and healing of child abuse.

These women will have a day of fun playing bingo, participating in a silent auction, a lovely champagne brunch, and will make a difference in a child’s life. The prevention of child abuse begins with an invested community. This unique event will help Alliance For Children ensure that they can continue to be there to hear every child’s story.

The proceeds from Let’s Play Bingo! allow Alliance For Children to provide high-quality, trauma-focused programs to child abuse victims at no cost!
